How to apply
We are delighted that you are considering applying to TU Dublin. Before submitting your application, please review this page for important advice and guidelines.
To explore part-time course options at TU Dublin, use the course search tool. Application links can be found on each course webpage under the "How to Apply" section. Please note that class timetables and modes of delivery are indicative and subject to change.
Before applying, ensure you check the course details and minimum entry requirements. Please be aware that programmes will only run if a sufficient number of applications are received.
Application Review & Required Documents:
Once you submit your application, it will be reviewed. If additional documentation is required, we will contact you.
- Only verified transcripts or statements of results with a college logo or official stamp will be accepted (please do not post originals).
- Academic transcripts must include: All subjects taken for each year of study & final award grade.
- If transcripts are not in English, you must provide both the original-language documents and certified English translations.
- Proof of identification is also required (a valid passport or driver's license is accepted).
Your application cannot be assessed without all of the documents requested during the application process. Once all required documents are received, your application will be forwarded to the Programme Chair for assessment. You will be notified of the decision once the assessment is complete and a decision has been made.
Application Fee
- A non-refundable application fee of €50 must be paid when submitting your online application.
- Applicants who have applied for a SUSI grant are still required to pay the €50 application fee.
Acceptance & Fees
- If you receive an offer, you must pay a non-refundable acceptance fee of €300 to secure your place within 14 days from the date of offer. This fee will be offset against the total course fee. (This does not apply to SUSI grant applicants.)
- 25% of the course fee is due at the time of registration.
Closing Date
Applications for part-time undergraduate courses close on 5th September 2025. Courses may fill before the deadline, so we encourage you to apply early.

Can Non-EU students apply for a part-time programme?
Non-EU students, not resident in Ireland, may only apply for part-time programs that are exclusively offered online, applications for courses that require on-campus attendance will not be processed. Applications for exclusively online courses can be made under the following guidelines:
- Standard Part-Time Rate: Non-EU students can apply and pay tuition fees at the standard part-time rate for the chosen program.
- No Student Visa Required: Non-EU students applying for 100% online part-time courses do not require a student visa for Ireland.
- No Residency Status Needed: Applicants do not need to possess any residency status in Ireland to be eligible for these online programs.
Important Restrictions
However, it's important to note the following restrictions that apply to Non-EU students on these online programs:
- Visa and Residency Limitations: Students enrolled in these 100% online part-time programs cannot use their status on these programs to apply for a student visa or a graduate visa in Ireland.
- Residency in Ireland: Enrolling in these programs will not grant students eligibility for residency in Ireland.
- No Physical Presence in Ireland: No part of the program can physically take place in Ireland. This means there are no on-campus requirements, such as in-person classes, meetings, or exams. The entire program must be delivered and assessed online.
Please make sure to review these guidelines carefully before applying for our 100% online part-time programs as a Non-EU student not residing in Ireland.
Is my international qualification suitable for entry?
Applicants who have obtained a qualification outside the Republic of Ireland or the UK are advised to compare their international qualification against the Irish National Framework of Qualifications to verify the level of their award. Please visit www.qqi.ie for more information. Instruction for all courses is normally through English (excluding any language modules) and applicants who do not have Leaving Certificate English must provide evidence of equivalent competence through school leaving or matriculation examinations or achievements of a minimum standard in recognised tests of English. In exceptional circumstances, students may be admitted to undergraduate courses without these formal certificates where there is evidence of studying through English.
Where can I get a timetable for my classes?
Classes will be delivered on the days/nights advertised on the course page. A detailed timetable for each module will only be available on the night of registration.
Are exams held during the day or in the evening?
Exams are held during the day in January and May for all full-time and part-time students.
Can I apply for exemptions based on previous qualifications?
An application for exemptions will only be considered from a registered student. Therefore, you can only apply for exemptions once you have completed registration. Please note you must apply for exemptions before 30th September and you must discuss your application with your Course Co-Coordinator.
Are books included in the course price?
No. Lecturers may suggest you purchase books while on the course and this is at the student’s expense. Please note the University has an extensive Library facilities on each campus and students may utilise this service, provided their fees are paid and they have a valid student card.
